Blasts off with strategic A&P Campaign to WOW! Car enthusiast

THE Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 (KLIMS’10) Advertising and Promotion (A&P) campaign was recently officially launched by our country’s very own Minister of Tourism, The lovely Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen.

This year end event is slated to be held at none other than the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), the venue for previous Kuala Lumpur International Motor Shows, from the 3rd to the 12th of December, and this year’s Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show is widely expected to attract over 330,000 visitors and tourists. Unlike previous Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show’s, this year’s motor show promises to showcase some of the world’s latest and hottest automotive wonders, as well as much sought after car accessories and gadgets, while being even more interesting and enticing as this year’s motor show will be packed with goodies and give-away’s that will astound both visitors and tourists alike.

“The school holidays and the year end period is when Malaysia experiences the most number of tourist’s entries. KLIMS’10 offers families from out of town to visit the show and spend time in our beautiful world class city, Kuala Lumpur,” said an optimistic Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen.

“The excitement and highlights of KLIMS’10 will definitely be a major crowd pullers. Hollywood comes to KLIMS’10 in the form of a 16-foot high Bumble Bee, Transformers robot and the Batmobile straight out from the big screens,” said Datuk Aishah Ahmad, Chairwoman of KLI

The KLIMS’10 A&P launch paid tribute to the partners and sponsors who have painstakingly collaborated to ensure that this year’s motor show will be a stellar event compared to the previous motor show’s. Visitors stand a chance to win Toyota’s popular hybrid car, the Toyota Prius, while Proton Sagas and a few bikers dream NAZA Bikes are big ticket items to be won by merely purchasing an entry ticket, while special self-drive & ride holiday packages were also offered by Chevrolet Captiva and Harley-Davidson.

“Besides showcasing the latest automotive brands and innovations that can be found in the market today, we hope to also bring forth the automotive industry’s initiatives in contributing to the well-being of mankind, which is why our green theme this time is called WE CARE,” added Datuk Aishah Ahmad.

KLIMS’10, theme “We Care” aims to outlining the 4 core traits of CARE which are:

• Driven by Commitment,
• Focused on Advancement,
• Trusted for Reliability, and
• Concern for Environment

A timely and relevant stand in line with the Global concern of the environmental issues that is plaguing the world today. The organizers hope that with the recent tabling of the 2011 budget, more eco-friendly vehicles and hybrid cars can be put on display to show the world that the planet can be saved by environmental friendly efforts and moves such as the invention, and continued research and production of these environment-friendly machines.

Motorist will be able to listen on the happenings of KLIMS’10 through the Official Radio Stations, RFM98, RED104.9 and Suria FM, as they will be able to tune in to find out on the great deals offered by the show’s Official Hotels, the Best Western Premier Seri Pacific Hotel and The Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

KLIMS is being hyped and touted as a tourist attraction in Malaysia for simply being the biggest motor show in town. Its size has made record in the Malaysian Book of Records, for the previously held and organized KLIMS in 2000, 2003, and 2006, and is poised to break that record again this year after an unavoidable four year hiatus.

Some 5,000 ‘early bird’ visitors who visit KLIMS’10 will be giving a free AMBANK CarZ debit card, as a gesture of welcome and appreciation to be the first 5,000 visitors. About Malaysian Automotive Association

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), formerly known as the Malaysian Motor Traders Association (MMTA), was established in November 1960. The aim of MAA is to support the development and protect the interest of motor traders in Malaysia, as well as to make representation to the various Government bodies on issues pertaining to the automotive industry.

Besides serving as a liaison with the Government agencies, MAA also communicates industry positions and objectives to the media frequently. To-date, MAA has 269 members, comprising of 45 full members who are franchise holders and assemblers, 6 associate members nominated by franchise holders and 218 subscriber members from various institutions and associations (banks, stock brokers, etc) who have an interest the local automotive industry.
